The Red Tail Hawk flute in the key of "G" minor (440 Hz) has a soothing, melodic musical voice. It has a deeper sound than our Sparrow Hawk "A" flute, but remains an ideal choice for beginners who are just learning because it is easy to play.

It is made from local, sustainable aromatic cedar and features turquoise inlaid cabochons that add to the decorative beauty while enhancing the functional artistry of the instrument.

Aromatic cedar has a color palette ranging from ginger orange to burgundy red, it can also showcase sapwood, the yellow wood color that is also present in Aromatic Cedar.

The key of "g" minor is very versatile; it combines well with other instruments and is compatible with a variety of different musical genres, such as: - traditional, romantic, blues, jazz, world fusion as well as sound healing tones.

The Red Tail Hawk has a moderately lower midrange voice, its length of approximately 21 inches (54 cm) makes it a very accessible flute for most hand sizes. This flute is tuned in the key of "g" minor, but can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "A♯"/"B♭".

This is a flute with six holes. We automatically include a leather hole cover with this flute, which can be used for the third hole from the top of the flute, as shown in the product pictures. Covering the third hole from the top makes it easier to learn to play the flute. The leather hole cover can be easily loosened and removed, giving the flute player the option of playing the instrument either as a five-hole flute or as a six-hole flute.
