"Christmas Carols from around the World" is a collection of carols that invites the kalimba player to embark on a musical journey around the world without losing sight of its European origins.

Around the world, Christmas marks the climax of Christian life with festivities that extend over several days. Christmas customs are just as varied as the living and weather conditions of the Christians celebrating. The diversity of cultures brings to light very different Christmas carols. The Christmas carol in Europe has a festive and dignified character. African Christmas carols often sound like an invitation to dance; North American Christmas carols, which originated much later than most European carols due to their culture, often have a hit character. In many Latin American Christmas songs, the focus is on festive togetherness; in the gospel songs of African-American cultures, the fun of singing and dancing is often more obvious than the Christmas message.
