Product information "Allton Spür-Monochord "Wölbi", Beech".

This monochord is available in three different tunings
MONOCHORD TUNING - TAMBURA TUNING - THREE TUNING.

The tactile, sensory perception instrument is handy and ergonomic. It is used for example for sound therapy and sound massages in clinics, practices, kindergartens, retirement homes and in Snoezel rooms. It is especially suitable for resting on the body because of its curvature.

All monochords are identical as follows

  • The monochord is oiled
  • 18 strings
  • dimensions: 60x24x9 cm
  • weight: about 2,3 kilograms
  • Body: beech laminated
  • Including tuning key, instruction manual, transport box

Special advantages/strengths of all monochords

  • Laminated beech makes it robust and stable
  • Tuning stable even with temperature fluctuations
  • Sound massage: Lack of resonance space enhances vibration transmission
  • Hold: The fingers fit very well between the body and the strings.

This vibroacoustic string instrument is designed for sensory body perception. Without a resonating body, the vibration of the strings is transmitted directly to the underside. The slight curvature allows a particularly large amount of vibration to be created and perceived by the body. Due to the construction and the use of wound strings, a deep, very palpable sound vibration is created despite the small size. The incorporated brass bridge creates a fuller sound. The compact form facilitates the use with bedridden persons or in mobile nursing. Handling is optimized by the ergonomic recessed grip and the high string spacing, as the hands can be placed here to make the sound vibrations perceptible via the hands and fingers. The Spür-Monochord is especially recommended for bedridden people.
