Tuning: on one side on note C, other side an octave lower, deep, sustaining bass sounds. These tones can each be tuned up to one tone higher or lower. For example on C sharp and G sharp.

The ALLTON monochord is a robust instrument that has been tried and tested over many years with variable playing options. The monochord can be played either horizontally on the floor or on a table or upright by screwing the feet onto the front or long sides.
A carpet of sound is created by simply stroking the strings with the fingertips. Can be used, for example, to accompany a fantasy journey or for musical relaxation. The back of the monochord vibrates when played.
