Made from local woods from northern Spain, the XAPHOON DE CATALUNYA is the latest variant of the Xaphoon. Each xaphoon is made in Catalonia by CESC SANS and its collaborators, the company SANS LUTHIER, a workshop for traditional woodwind instruments.
The oak xaphoon has a warm, clear sound. The wood is light in color and has a slight grain. Small irregularities on the surface of the instruments are normal for the wood.
Like the other Xaphoons, the instruments can be played chromatically over two octaves. The XAPHOON DE CATALUNYA is currently only available as a C version.
